My name is Mimi Aloni,
I was born and raised in Israel. I have a teaching credential from Wingate Institute in Israel and a master degree in creative arts in learning from Leslie College in Boston, MA.
For the last 20 years I worked in different teaching capacities, implementing various teaching techniques to a variety of students of all ages. I was a Hebrew language teacher, including Hebrew to new immigrants, and was a home room teacher for grades 7-9.
In 1998, due to my husband work, we moved to San Diego, CA with our 3 kids (Then 3 months, 6 years, 10 years old). During the first few years in San Diego I worked as a Hebrew teacher, but later I focused on arts - I was an art mentor with children in risk, and also developed and implemented an art program for senior homes.
In the summer of 2011, after graduating from UCSD, my oldest son Omri decided to move back to Israel and joined the IDF and served as a lone soldier for the first year. Last year we also decided to move back home to Israel after 14 years in the US (we never thought we will stay for so long...). My daughter Gil (21) is still in College there (UC Irvine), and Yuval (16) is starting 10th grade. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions, requests, or concerns. Having lived in Israel and abroad, will help me connect to people from all places, and I can definitely relate to families living apart from each other.
